On the 29th of January this year in Almaty (Kazakhstan) there will take place international conference Logistics role on the road Asia-Europe and the awards of Windrose 2010 of the international business magazine JURA MOPE SEA.  They will be dedicated for the merits in the field of logistics.

The inventors and the organisers of the conference are the international business magazine  JURA MOPE SEA and a group of Lithuanian and Kazakhstan logistics companies TL NIKA Group.

The event is under the patronage of: Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Lithuania.

In 2010 Kazakhstan started its chairmanship in European Security and Cooperation Organisation (ESCO) – the biggest regional security organisation, connecting 56 countries of Europe, North America and Asia.

Kazakhstan undertakes the chairmanship in ESCO from Greece, and in 2011 it transfers the chairmanship to Lithuania.

In the history of ESCO none of Middle Asian states has ever had a chairmanship. And Lithuania will be the first Baltic state which will chair this influential organisation.

Following the main ESCO principles each chairing state chooses priority direction activities.

Kazakhstan and Lithuania agreed that during the years of the chairmanship of both countries the priority directions will be the development and extension of transport and transit.

As its special representative in ESCO during the chairmanship of Kazakhstan, there was chosen the ambassador of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania for special tasks Vytautas Nauduzas. In this way they intend to assure the continuity of works in 2011 when Lithuania will start its chairmanship in ESCO.

This period of time coincides with Kazakhstan State Programme Road to Europe, the implementation of which was started in 2009 and will be completed in 2011.

The success of transit development and the programme Road to Europe, will in many cases depend on reasonable logistics.

During the years of chairmanship in ESCO of Kazakhstan and Lithuania the common attention will be paid to transport and transit urgent problems and the seek of Kazakhstan to build a road to Europe induced to discuss those matters among professionals. Their insights and recommendations might help the countries chairing ESCO to execute the set tasks.

Therefore, in the beginning of the year the international conference that will take place in Almaty Logistics role on the way to Europe is a step towards the constructive dialogue among the states, business, science and political organisations about the development of transport and transit.

By this Project it is anticipated to induce inter-governmental economic cooperation between Lithuania and Kazakhstan and also China, Russia, Belarus, Germany, Sweden and other countries of Europe and Asia, stressing its influence on transit development.

The objective of the event is to induce optimal logistics solutions, show the possibilities of logistics in inducing the movement of goods and transit process, attract the attention of state authority institutions of the countries to the problems, interfering with the development of transit and propose the ways of solutions, show how rational logistics solutions change the transport policy, submit the insights and rational proposals of logistics, transport and transit specialists for the governments of Kazakhstan and Lithuania.

During the conference the matters concerning railways, road, air transport and customs, the situation of Eurasian transport and logistics chain and perspectives will be discussed.

The finishing session of the conference will be dedicated to the chairmanship of Kazakhstan and Lithuania in ESCO, improvement of transport and transit conditions. Those matters will be analysed by transport professionals, experts, heads of ministries, representatives of the governments of the countries and ESCO from Kazakhstan, Russia, China, Austria, Belarus and Lithuania.

After the conference there will take place the ceremony of awards Windrose of the international business magazine JURA MOPE SEA.

The new awards – taking place for the second year – are organised by the magazine, which has celebrated its tenth anniversary of activities. The magazine renamed the former awards named after the hurricane Anatolijus that for six years in turn were handed to the leaders of Lithuanian transport industry.

Last year the journal changed the concept of awards and founded the new signs of respect and recognition, named after windrose, which is known for centuries by the travellers. Windrose, showing the four directions of the world, has always accompanied the caravans and ships of a very-well known Silk Road, maybe a little forgotten Tea, Spices, Sugar roads, Amber and Diamond roads.

Windrose differs from the earlier awards in the fact that it is an international award.

According to four directions of the world or four notches, four grand prises were founded.

Last year they were handed for the first time during the international conference in KlaipedaBaltic Marine Innovations Forum for the strengthening of the image of maritime state, development of innovations in maritime business, scientific achievements in investigating the Baltic Sea and seaside, and maritime mentality.

Windrose prises were awarded to Lithuanian sailors club Ambersail project Millennium Odyssey, Western Shipyard (Lithuania) and the company BARD Engineering (Germany) project Ship Windlift 1 for the construction of wind power plants at sea, common Project of Lithuanian, Poland and Russian scientists Power and the Project of Lithuanian higher seafarers` school Preparation of seafarers in Lithuania.

This year Windrose for the first time leaves Lithuania and will be handed in Almaty, Kazakhstan, where the magazine has friendship and business relations for already ten years.

The awards will be handed for the merits in the field of logistics.

During the grand ceremony of awards the laureates will be handed original prises, created by the magazine, made in Lithuania out of silver, covered with gold and enamel as well as Diplomas of Respect.

The name and the badge of Windrose, are patented as the ownership of the magazine JURA MOPE SEA, indicates the events organised by the magazine and its partners. On the logotypes of the conferences there remains the sign of Windrose and it is used as a symbol indicating the topics or geography of the event.

Last year, the logotype of the conference dedicated for the European Maritime day was the combination of Windrose and EU symbols.

The logotype of the event in Almaty reflects the symbols of Kazakhstan.
